Yamunotri is where the River Yamuna begins, found 30 km from Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. It’s a significant pilgrimage site in India, part of the Chhota Char Dham yatra along with Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The main highlight is the Yamunotri Temple dedicated to Ma Yamuna.

To reach Yamunotri, you have to trek 6 km starting from Jankichatti. The trek takes about 2.5 hours and can be done on foot, mule, palanquin, or carrier. Most people complete the journey to Yamunotri in a single day.
