Safdarjung Tomb

9 KM from city centre

One of the interesting places to visit in Delhi is the Safdarjung Tomb. It’s a beautiful mausoleum made of marble and sandstone, built in the 18th century in the Mughal architectural style. It was constructed in 1754, during the rule of Mughal Emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur, in honor of Safdarjung, who was a Prime Minister of the court.

You can find the tomb at the junction of Safdarjung Road and Aurobindo Marg, right in the heart of the city. It’s also known as ‘Safdarjung ka Maqbara’. The monument has a peaceful atmosphere and looks majestic because of its large dome, intricate arches, and detailed architecture.
