Roopkund is a mysterious lake situated high up at 5,029 meters above sea level, nestled between Trishul Peak and Nanda Ghunti. It’s known as the “Mystery Lake” because of the discovery of ancient human skeletons and horse remains dating back to the Paleolithic age.

The trail becomes steep as you approach Roopkund from Bedni Bugyal. About 5 kilometers before reaching the lake is Baguabasa, located at 4,100 meters above sea level.
