The Rashtrapati Bhavan, located at the western end of Rajpath in New Delhi, is the official home of the President of India. Originally built as the Viceroy’s House, it has 340 rooms in the main building and covers 5 acres on a 330-acre estate. Designed by architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, construction finished in 1929. Today, it’s one of the largest residences for any head of state worldwide. President Ram Nath Kovind has lived there since assuming office in July 2017.
