The Rail Museum, also called the National Railway Museum, is located near Chanakyapuri. It’s dedicated to preserving India’s railway heritage, which is 163 years old. The museum covers 10 acres of land and has a fantastic collection of railway memorabilia.
Established on February 1, 1977, the Rail Museum features around 100 real-size exhibits of Indian railways, including both working and static displays, antiques, furniture, and more. Visitors can even take rides on some dummy specimens. The outdoor area is home to the famous ‘Fairy Queen,’ the oldest working steam locomotive.
In addition to the outdoor exhibits, the museum offers a 3D virtual train ride, a steam locomotive simulator, and an indoor gallery for visitors to explore.
