The National Museum in New Delhi, also known as the National Museum of India, is a large museum located on Janpath and Maulana Azad Road. It was established in 1949, based on plans created by the Gwyer Committee set up by the Government of India in 1946. Today, the museum is home to a vast collection of 200,000 artworks from India and other countries. It is managed by the Ministry of Culture, Department of India. The museum displays artifacts from prehistoric times to modern art, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of various nations over the past 5000 years.
