Jawai Bandh is a big dam on the Jawai river, near Sumerpur town in Pali district, Rajasthan. It’s one of the biggest reservoirs in the state. King Umaid Singh of Jodhpur built it in 1956-57 to provide water for farming. The dam covers an area of 500 square kilometers and is 61 feet tall.
People who love nature and wildlife enjoy visiting Jawai Bandh. It has beautiful hills, caves, and a stream. You can see leopards, birds, and even crocodiles there. Many birds, especially sarus cranes, come here. Visitors can also camp at the dam.
