Near the iconic Golden Temple in Amritsar lies Jallianwala Bagh, a public garden that serves as a memorial to honor the victims of a tragic massacre perpetrated by British forces. Covering an area of 6.5 acres, Jallianwala Bagh holds immense historical significance, marking one of the darkest chapters in Indian history. It was here, on a fateful day during the peaceful Baisakhi celebrations, that thousands of innocent people lost their lives at the hands of General Dyer’s orders. Today, the site has been transformed into a serene park and is overseen by the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust.
