Fatehpuri Masjid

1 KM from city centre

Fatehpuri Masjid, situated at the western end of Chandni Chowk in Delhi, is a 17th-century mosque named after Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s wife, Fatehpuri Begum. Built in 1650, it’s made entirely of red stone and features a fluted dome and towering minarets. The mosque’s central prayer hall has seven enormous arches. It gained historical significance as a station for Indian troops during the 1857 war and was later auctioned by the British to a local merchant.
