Located in the lower Himalayan Shivalik range, approximately 50 km from Anandpur Sahib, this ecological zone is a man-made wetland established in 1952. Spanning over 1365 hectares, this reserve harbors a diverse range of wildlife, including nine mammal species, 35 fish species, nine arthropod species, ten protozoan species, 11 rotifer species, and over 150 bird species. Several of these animal species, such as the Chitra Indica turtle and the Python molurus snake, are listed as endangered.
